1.0 INTRODUCTION
Personal protective equipment (PPE) and clothing must be worn when performing tasks which have potential for injury to employees. In addition, certain aids must be used or available for some types of work. _____ conducts PPE hazard assessments where hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitates the use of PPE.
All PPE purchased or used in the _____ system must be approved by the appropriate standards organizations (i.e., ANSI, NIOSH). Thus, _____ will be responsible for ensuring all PPE is acceptable for use. No employee-owned equipment will be authorized for use at _____.
A variety of PPE shall be available to fit different sized employees. PPE should fit properly and not cause discomfort. If the PPE does not fit properly, there may be loss of necessary protection for the employee.
